Andrea Resigns from the EM
This new year brings change to many of us, and with this issue I announce my changing role with the Enneagram Monthly. Effective with this issue, I am resigning from my position as co-Editor and co-Publisher of the Enneagram Monthly, a position I have shared as equal partners with Jack Labanauskas since the founding days of the EM seven years ago. I will instead serve as Consulting Editor.
Over the past years, I’ve been developing my workshop series, “Transformation Through Movement” (originally called “EnneaMotion”, exploring the nine types through movement). The more I’ve been able to combine aspects of my spiritual practice with my teaching, the more meaningful this work has become, and the more my energy has been going in that direction. Exercises for the development of self-inquiry, physical and emotional intelligence theory, movement, drawing and meditation, have been inspiring in leading my work towards the development of will and emotional healing through movement. I’ve been very fortunate to have had more opportunities to teach this work lately, and am taking this step in order to cultivate its growth along with seeing clients in my new private practice.
It is very difficult to leave the position I’ve had to date, and to say good-bye to you. During these years, I’ve had the distinct honor and privilege to communicate with all of our favorite and most well-known teachers and authors, and have taken workshops and training programs with many of you. Many of you have contributed support in a multitude of ways—in the form of articles, advertising, letters, subscribing, calling with inquiries about subscriptions, training programs, books, conferences, ideas you were working on and wondering if anybody else was exploring yet, etc., that often led to inspiring dialogues which became the foundation of many treasured friendships.
Jack has been an incredible business partner. He is a visionary and extremely dedicated to wherever he directs his passion. Our hard work of these past seven years was not only a lot of fun but has been rewarding beyond words. This has been a dream-come-true, and because of it and your support, my life has been forever altered. I carry you with me in my heart, and will be as involved as necessary for this transition to be gradual enough so it can be as seamless as possible.
I’ll still have a presence in the Enneagram community, not only as Consulting Editor to the EM, but also as a new Board Member of the International Enneagram Association. I’ll be a liaison between the EM and the IEA, and will continue my involvement with the Enneagram community and be around to answer your questions for some time to come.
I look forward to continuing my friendships with you, and wish you all a very blessed year ahead.
With gratitude, and wishing a smashing 2002 to the EM…
